Early Intervention Speech Therapy Techniques

I’m always with my kids so it was easy for me to notice. When I went to the first doctor about it they told me to fill out a questionnaire with a bunch of yes and no questions which doesn’t help because it’s not that simple. After filling it out they told me my son didn’t have autism but I have 3 nephews with it so I knew that wasn’t true. Then we got a new doctor and they sent us to a specialist who immediate confirmed he indeed has autism. At the time my son was almost 5yo and wasn’t speaking at all along with other signs. Things like that make me stress to people how important it is to advocate for themselves and their children when it comes to their medical needs so the proper steps can happen for the right care.

My sons doctor keep telling me that they can’t check until their 5. Is there anything that I can do?
